A fish and a bird,
A peculiar love story.

One swims through the sky on wings;
The other flies through the water with fins.

The two dance together,
Kissing the surface of the water.

They meet daily at the jagged jetty,
A craggy area fit for the two.

High tides and clear skies allow
The two the luxury of love and time.

The tide lowers during the meeting,
Ensnaring the fish in the inlet.

The sky darkens, and a crack of
Thunder bellows. The bird drops into

The inlet to join the fish. A man
Approaches with an arm of fire still

Hot and smoking. The first panics
As its lover dies and the arm screams.

The two creatures were joined,
United by a bullet.
